Welcome All.
We will use this site to communicate during the project. You can upload documents, leave comments and ask questions. Each member will also have either your own page or school page to record your thoughts electronically. Look for your page in the "Electronic Journals" folder in the side bar
I hope that together we can collect some rich data about using ICT in Mathematics. We can then use this data to inform our planning and create programs that will challenge, inspire and engage our students.
Thanks
Rod

Hi Naomi...to make a video, go to animoto.com and sign up for a free account. Making the videos is a straightforward 3 step process. Once you finish the video watch it and if you're happy with it then click the big 'pin' button, click the word 'embed' and click 'other sites'. Copy the code (using your mouse, highlight the text, right click and select copy). To add the video to PBwiki, navigate to the wiki page you want to show the video on and click the edit tab at the top. From the wiki toolbar select 'insert plugin', 'productivity', 'any google gadget' and paste the code in that you copied from animoto (right click your mouse in the blank box and select paste). Save your changes and viola! Hope this helps. Dan.

I wanted to comment on the last PD with Mark Hennessy and Rod White. I found it thought provoking, opening up areas that I need to go. I reflected on my own teaching and how I have struggled with catering for all my students in particular at the top end keeping their love and enthusiasm of Maths alive. Sometimes with the demands of students who are struggling these students are always on my mind , making choices for them as to where they are going. I am hoping the doors will open for them. Thanking you for that PD.

Thanks Danny, I made one and it really was quite simple. I would post it but I only had photos of my dog to use, so others might not find it as endearing as me!

Mary - Thanks for the feedback. Keep checking and contributing to the wiki!
Naomi - In keeping with our theme of using software freely available to teachers, check out Microsoft Photostory for making slideshows, its FREE to download http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx

Hi - this is a really helpful discussion. Another good websit is Common Craft in Plain english http://www.commoncraft.com/. This offers simple "how to" xplanations for students and teachers. Type in Wiki in the search box and watch the video.

Hello everyone and thank you to Naomi for inviting me along to join this wonderful, collaborative learning and sharing space.
This week I had the pleasure of having Naomi and some teachers visit my classroom and personally I think for all involved in classroom visits/pd are a wonderful means of improving teaching and learning practise. These opportunities enable all teachers involved to have the professional dialogue that ultimately encourages reflection and improved teaching and learning opportuntiies for our students. I'm looking forward to being an active memebr of this wiki and hope to 'pick your brains' to improve my teaching and also hope that I am able to contribute in a way the benefits others here.
